Highway 12

My route through Idaho includes 128 miles on U.S. Highway 12, which follows the Clearwater River through the Northeastern part of the state.  For the past 50 or so miles, people I've talked to have all warned me that it's a narrow, crowded road with logging trucks, and semis. Unfortunately, it's really my only way to get to Montana. The first 28 miles on the highway we're frankly pretty terrible, but once I entered Clearwater National Forest, the traffic subsided to a slow trickle, and the sholders were wider in many places. I'm in Lowell now, the last established location for the next 63 miles.
