Lincoln, MT
I got back on our planned route today. Hwy 83 took me 24 miles south to Clearwater Junction, where I continued east on hwy 200. Around 1600, I arrived here in Lincoln MT, population ≈1000. It seems to be a sort of bike town. Many stores have signs that say "Welcome Bicyclists", and one hotel had a canvas bike repair tent on it's front lawn.
Spent the afternoon here. I had shade, electricity, and picknick tables.
I spent the afternoon in the shade of a large wooden structure, eating ice cream and napping. I also met three Taiwanese cyclists on their way to Banff.
2200 calories of victory.
Lincoln has some great options for cyclists to spend the night, but I think I'm going to keep riding. Hopefully I'll sleep in the National Forest tonight near Rogers Pass.
