Feeling Patriotic

Today I rode my bicycle for about 6 hours, covering 86 miles of asphalt, mostly on hwy 83 north. Further north, I encountered more mosquitoes, cooler weather, and somehow, even more pickup trucks, trailers, and RVs.

After swimming briefly in a surprisingly cold lake near Bigfork, I continued north to Colombia Falls. There, I met Frank, a sturdy, older man, who pulled over to give me unsolicited, and extremely helpful advice. He direct me to the cheapest grocery store in town (Smith's), pointed out the best back-roads on my map, and showed me some good camping spots along my route.

In an attempt to feel as American as possible, I indulged in a pint of ice cream and half of a Blackberry pie. Successful, I left Colombia Falls on hwy 486 north.

I plan to explore Glacier National Park by bike for the next few days. Then, I'll retrace my steps back to Clearwater Junction of hwy 83 and hwy 200, meeting up with Elijah shortly thereafter.

Pictures to come...hopefully..
